Project Phases
A 1.2km cable-stayed bridge spanning the Willamette River with dedicated transit, bike, and pedestrian lanes. Portland's first new river crossing in 50 years.
The Challenge
Building over a navigable waterway with strict environmental protections for salmon habitat and a 24/7 marine traffic corridor.
Our Solution
Employed top-down construction from the pylon with a launching gantry, eliminating the need for temporary supports in the river channel during salmon migration.
